How do I access the screenings?

This year, access to all of JIIFF’s screenings must be done with previous reservation by completing the form that you will find when you enter the “Reserve” button.

Reservations can be made starting from Wednesday 13th of January for any screening. Once the reservation is complete, you will receive a confirmation email and a reference number. If you are unable to attend, please contact us so we can free the space for someone else. Our reservation service will be available up until two hours before the start of the screening.

In the event that locations are full, we will enable a late night screening at 23:30hs which will be announced in our social media and web.

In the confirmation email of your reservation you will receive:

  • Reference number that you must present when entering the screening.
  • Map of how to get to the location.

From JIIFF we advise:

  • Get there early so you may secure a good location.
  • We suggest up to two people per car for a better viewing experience.
  • Bring your picnic! Also, as in every edition of JIIFF, we recommend you to bring a blanket or some warm clothes.
  • We recommend your windscreen is clean.
  • If at any time you need assistance or your car has run out of battery, you may communicate with our staff via the Whatsapp number you will find in your reservation confirmation.
  • Is the screening over and you want to clap? You can use your front and back lights. You may use your horn to “clap” as well, but we would prefer the lights.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I attend without a reservation?

No. Given the current health situation, a reservation is mandatory. Our reservation assistance will be available up until two hours before the screening, so if there are any locations available, you can make a reservation.

At what time can I enter the drive-in?

For the Matinee screening, access will be available from 19 until 20hs. Screening will begin at 20:30hs. For the late night screenings, access will be available from 22:30 until 23:00hs. Screening will begin at 23:30hs.

Cars will be distributed in order of attendance, taking into consideration that our team will guide the bigger trucks to a special sector in the back so everyone can have a good experience. Members of the JIIFF Club will have access to a special area in front of the screen for their vehicles. We thank you for following our team’s instructions when indicating where you should park.

Can I go on motorcycle, bicycle or by foot?

No. Access will be granted only to closed vehicles. This protocol will allow everyone to be safe and enjoy the festival.

How do I enter each location?

This year, the screenings will be held in Estancia Vik, Las Garzas and Pueblo Garzón.
You can find how to get there in the link SEDES at our website.
When making your reservation, with the confirmation email, you will receive the map and the details on how to reach the location.

How will I listen to the film? What language are the films in?

You can listen to the film’s audio through your car’s radio on an FM frequency, which we’ll share with you. Please make sure your registered car’s radio works properly. We will maintain the original language of the film with Spanish and English subtitles on screen when required. We don’t recommend you use an app to tune on the radio with your smartphone since you might experience some delay.

Will there be food and beverage options available?

No. We advise you bring your own picnic.

Can I exit the vehicle?

Stepping out from your car is forbidden, except to use our toilet facilities. Should you need to use them, you will be required to wear a face mask at all times and maintain 2 meters for social distance.

Will screenings be suspended in case of rain?

In case of rain, the screening will be held the following day and this will be announced with due time through our social media. Those who have made a reservation will receive an email notification, with due time as well. If a light rain should start during the screening, please turn on your windshield wipers. In case of heavy rain, we will interrupt the screening for 20 minutes to see if the situation improves.

How can I check the program?

On our website! You can find information about our feature films and also the short films that are part of the Short Film Competition. You can see the full program here. More information about the Short Film Competition here.

What safety measures will you apply?

We will apply all measures recommended by the Ministry of Public Health. In order to ensure everyone’s safety, we will provide enough distance in between the vehicles.

It is not allowed to step down from the vehicles except for use of our facilities, where you will find hand sanitizer. In these cases, you will be required to wear a face mask at all times and keep a minimum distance of 2 meters from all other people.

Every surface on the facilities will be disinfected continuously.

What if my car runs out of battery?

The battery of a car should be enough to power your radio during the whole film. If you think it might not, we recommend you start your car every 30 minutes for about 2/3 minutes. In case you run out of battery, our staff will assist you with the equipment and connections required to charge your battery enough so it can jump start. Another option you can use to save your car’s battery is to bring a portable radio that can tune an FM station.
