SYNOPSIS
Sandra (Sandra Hüller), a German writer, her French husband Samuel (Samuel Theis) and their eleven-year-old son Daniel (Milo Machado Graner), have led an isolated life in a remote town in the French Alps. When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question whether he committed suicide or was murdered. Sandra becomes the main suspect, and in the trial, her son faces a moral dilemma as the sole witness.
BIOGRAPHY
Justine Triet is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Her first films question the place of the individual within the group. Her debut feature La Bataille de Solférino (Age of Panic) was selected for ACID in Cannes 2013 and nominated for a 2014 César in the Best First Film category. Victoria, her second feature, opened the Critics’ Week in Cannes in 2016. Actress. Sibyl, her third feature, was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Anatomy of a Fall is her fourth feature and also set to premiere in Competition in the Official Selection of Cannes 2023.
